KRenegade Monk is a unique British cheese. You might say it is a hybrid: just like a Trappist cheese, it is drunkenly washed in ale and it also has blue cheese cultures added to it. As a result, the cheese is feral tasting, meaty and intensly pungent.
The cheese is indeed ‘renegage’ by name and nature. Its name also evokes the Knights Templar, the original renegade monks.
It is excellent paired with crusty bread and a pint of ale.
